⚠️ Tech Tip: Watch Out for the ‘Expiring Apple ID’ Text Scam
There’s a sneaky new phishing scam making the rounds—and this one comes via text message, not email or social media.
Here’s how it works:
You receive a text saying your Apple ID is about to expire, urging you to click a link to “confirm” your account. The link takes you to a website that looks exactly like Apple’s—but it’s a fake.
Once there, you’re asked to enter your Apple ID and password. After you submit your info, you’ll likely see an error message saying your account has been locked “for security reasons.”
Don’t be fooled—your real Apple account hasn’t been locked. But now the scammer has your login details and can access your account.
📵 What to do:
Do NOT click the link.
Delete the message immediately.
Apple will never ask you to confirm your Apple ID via text.
🔒 If you already fell for the scam and entered your credentials, go to the real Apple website and change your password ASAP: https://appleid.apple.com
Stay sharp out there—scammers are always looking for new ways to trick you. Think before you tap!
